North American Whitewater Junior Olympics Advanced Freestyle

2011 USACK Junior Olympics in Lyons, CO July 16-20th. Kids from as far away as New Zealand to Canada and the US descended upon Lyons for their reknowned whitewater features. Freestyle, slalom, sladeo and downriver races filled the week long event. Awesome kids, Awesome town. Special thanks to Michael and Gina Hyde for their incredible efforts to pull off this event with style!!!

Surfing the Legendary Wave Big Sur

Dan and the boys went on a kayaking trip to Big Sur, the legendary wave that only appears at super high flows and has been dormant since 1997.

It was a hot 100-degree day and we got eaten alive by the mosquitos, but we had a great time surfing a truly epic wave. All five of us were able to surf the wave at the same time. Check out the video and watch for the giant log/tree that came down the river while Grady and Brody were surfing the wave.
