Happy Birthday to Grady!! What did he want to do for his birthday? Big surprise…kayak and play Playstation. So we kayaked and hooked up PS3 to our computer monitor.
The title is a about our brilliant children and their plan to make Grady fall into the river off a vine they were swinging on (they thought the vine would break on Grady). The plan backfired and Dally ended up in the river instead…Ha Ha!!
Happy to be back on the water after a few days out! Time to get used to holes again instead of waves and what better place to do that than at the Pigeon??
I am Kady Kellogg, I’m 13 and this was my first year freestyle kayaking and my first year competing. I was really scared at the beginning of the year. The first competition I did was in Glenwood Springs, CO. I didn’t really want to compete because there weren’t many girls but it was good for me to get my feet wet because I had to compete against my brothers and other boys the whole year. In Green River, WY, I was planning to compete, but when I surfed the hole I got stuck in it and it made me really scared so I didn’t compete there.
Grady has been competing in the new Jackson All Star during the World Cup Series … he loves it — it goes bigger than any other boat before it and it doubles as a pretty sick river runner for easy Class IV’s and below. He’s ordered a new one in his own custom color!

The first World Cup in the Series was in Rock Island, TN and it was, hands down, the most organized competition we’ve ever competed at! There were 3 days of competition and each day there was water only during a certain number of hours, so everything had to run smoothly to get all the events in and it was as perfect as could ever be hoped for. To simply be here at this event is crazy exciting, there is so much adrenaline, so much excitement, and, for us, so much unknown!! More
So we’ve been at the beach for 1 week and it was the best full week ever. There was minimal fighting, sand, salt and wind swept kids who crashed the minute we returned to the RV, and total utter fun and relaxation. We’d get down to the beach around 10 am and not return to camp until 5 or 6 or even later. Shower, eat and pass out. More
The point series tour has come to a close and I can’t say we aren’t a little sad, but we have so much to look forward to and so much to look back on with incredible memories. First and foremost, we have spent the past 6 weeks traveling as a family and every single one of us can take something amazing away from each and every experience. More
Kenny and Dally made the podium in the Cadet class. Brody and Dan also got on the podium in the Junior Men’s and Open Men’s classes, respectively. Grady and Kady both won 4th place in the Junior Men’s and Cadet classes, respectively.

We are home for a few days to finish up the school year and finish packing up the RV for a summer on the road. The kids very first competition in their first run in the circuit turned out to be everything we prayed it would be. First, we realized a dream and purchased an RV that is big enough to fit us all, absolutely a gift from God, there is no doubt. More
