Raw Homemade Applesauce!

I’ve bHoney Crisp Apples are the Yummiest!een making homemade applesauce for a very long time, but now my diet is 99%+ raw food only and has been for about 2 months, but I really wanted to continue to make homemade applesauce for my family because we know it’s much healthier than the over processed kind you buy at the store.  With some trial and error I came up with the greatest tasting raw applesauce EVER!!!  And the major bonus is it took me only 15 minutes from start to finish and I didn’t cook away all the healthy aspects … its like applesauce the way nature intended!!

I started with 6 apples (I prefer honeycrisp), cored and quartered — not peeled, I like to leave the peel in the applesauce for the benefit of the fiber, but of course, this is a preference, so feel free to peel the skin away, the younger crowd will probably like it better!!

Add the juice of the lemons (I love love love lemons for their taste and their antioxidants, choose fully ripened lemons for the most powerful antioxidant punch. I also recommend choosing organic when possible, obviously!  =0

5-6 Large Dates

Add 1/2 cup real maple syrup

Add 1/2 cup distilled water (more or less depending on the consistency you desire)

Add 1 t. cimmamon.  (Cinnamon improves the body’s ability to utilize blood sugar.)

Add 1/4 t allspice (Aids in indigestion, expels gas, eases abdominal pain and helps with the chills)

Add 1/2 t nutmeg (Helps with lack of libido … yep!)

Pinch of Natural Sea Salt

Handful of Raisins.

Turn the food processor on,  blend to desired consistency. =0

Pour the apple mixture into a bowl.  Mix it all together and serve with chopped walnuts, currants or a few chopped dates on top!  Mmmm!  You might even try throwing a handful of cranberries in with it!!

  1. Wow, this sounds delish. So happy you are still on the raw diet, you are such an inspiration. If RAW food can fuel you, it can fuel anyone! Off to the store to get some apples!
